Guide to Dissemination of 2020 Population Census Long Form Results

PACITAN is a regency located in the western part of East Java Province. Pacitan is one of the regencies/cities with a large number of elderly population. According to the 2020 Population Census, the elderly population in Pacitan reached around 93,8 thousand or around 16 percent. This high number of elderly population makes Pacitan an ageing population regency. The right strategy is needed to make the population a potential resource to realize the vision of a developed Indonesia.In order to realize the vision of a developed Indonesia, in 2022, exactly one decade after Indonesia's demographic bonus, BPS (Central Statistics Agency) made an effort to fulfill its mandate to carry out the Long Form SP2020 (National Population Census) with various challenges in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic. With the permission of God and the hard work of all parties, the field data collection of the Long Form SP2020 has been successfully completed.The Long Form SP2020 carries a big mission as a benchmark indicator of Indonesia's population, a portrait of Indonesia's demography after the second wave of the COVID-19 pandemic, an evaluation of development achievements in the population sector under the SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals) and the RPJMN (National Medium-Term Development Plan), and a basis for determining Indonesia's development policies towards a golden Indonesia in 2045.Although the Long Form SP2020 was carried out in the midst of a pandemic, there were several innovations applied, one of which was the use of CATI (Computer Assisted Telephone Interviewing) for the first time in the history of Indonesia's population census. The implementation process and results of the Long Form SP2020 are presented briefly in the booklet "Indicators of Population Results from the Long Form SP2020". This booklet provides a comprehensive overview of the population situation in Indonesia based on the results of the Long Form SP2020.The basic data coverage of the Long Form SP2020 results is fertility, mortality, mobility, employment, disability, education, and housing indicators. The provision of demographic parameters and population characteristics is expected to produce indicators to monitor and evaluate the achievement of SDGs and RPJMN targets in the population sector.
